There are a few rounds to conquer before you reach the grand finale in Bratislava. Mark your calendar – and don’t miss your shot.
- Registration: May 28–June 28, 2025
- Qualification Round: June 27–28, 2025 CEST (48 hours, reach point threshold to advance)
- Online Round: July 12, 2025 at 16:00 CEST (3 hours)
- Onsite Finals: September 12–14, 2025 (4-hour contest on September 13)

Who can join
The challenge is open to adults with residence in most European countries, Canada, or the United States. Please check the exact eligibility criteria before signing up.
Please note that this is a pilot project of the challenge, and as such, its scope had to be limited based on a combination of operational, legal, and logistical considerations. We do recognize and appreciate the global talent pool worldwide and we truly hope that we'll be able to expand the eligibility criteria significantly in future editions of the challenge!
What to expect
Engineers from far and wide are going to compete for bragging rights, t-shirts, and the main prize: €10,000.
The top 256 participants in the Online Round will receive a special limited-edition DragonByte t-shirt.
The top 20 participants in the Online Round will be invited to the on-site challenge in Bratislava, where the stakes get real:
- 1st place: €10,000
- 2nd place: €5,000
- 3rd place: €2,500
Each finalist is eligible to receive €400 euros (approx. 450 USD) to cover their travel and accommodation costs. Any additional expenses will be the participant’s responsibility.
And the finals experience? Well worth it – more than just coding!
- Friday, September 12: Welcome evening with craft beer, great food, and good company
- Saturday, September 13: The finals, followed by an awards ceremony and celebration
- Sunday, September 14: A relaxed boat trip and sightseeing around Bratislava
